CONDUCT

Dress | Homework | Behavior | Discipline

The following rules have been established at the Academy in order to maintain an academically, morally and socially healthy atmosphere for your children, These guidelines are non-negotiable and will be enforced by both teachers and Academy directors.

Dress Code:

  • Bottom of shirt and top of pants must overlap, even when bending over
  • Shirt straps must be at least 2 inches wide
  • No skintight pants or shirts
  • Shirt should show no cleavage
  • No offensive language/symbolism on T-shirts
  • No mini skirts
  • Shorts must be of modest length

    If in dispute, Academy directors maintain the right to have the final say about appropriate dress.

 Homework Policy:

    On occasion, the teachers will assign homework to your child. When possible, we will list assignments on the announcement board. Assignments will also be listed on the web site. We do expect homework to be completed as assigned.

  • First Missed Assignment: student is given warning
  • Second Missed Assignment: parent notification
  • Third Missed Assignment: possible dismissal.

 Behavior:

  • No foul or borderline language allowed.
  • No name-calling allowed.
  • No hitting or other physical aggression allowed.
  • Students are expected to show respect to teachers and other students.
  • No public display of affection between boys and girls.
  • No smoking any where on the campus.
  • No electronic games, CD players, scooters, roller blades, or skate boards are allowed.
  • Students should turn off cell phones while they are in class.
  • Academy staff reserves the right to discipline any other behaviors seen as disruptive or disrespectful

 Discipline Policy:

  • Step One: In-class warnings
  • Step Two: Classroom Removal/Teacher-Student (Teacher removes student from class and discusses behavior with student)
  • Step Three: Classroom Removal/Director (The second class removal will result in the teacher sending the child to one of the directors.)
  • Step Four: Director/Parent/Child Conference

    In extreme situations the parent may be called following the first offense. Academy Directors reserve the right to expel students that do not adhere to Academy rules.
