For the fans and athletes of the various Pulaski Flames sports teams, there are several Flames Sportswear items available for purchase. (Please note that sportswear is different from team uniforms, which are handled and distributed directly by team coaches.)
T-Shirts – T-shirts cost $10 (which includes screening, tax, and shipping). T-shirts are Jerzees Brand, and are a heavyweight 5.6 oz., 50/50 cotton/polyester blend with a durable ribbed crew-neck collar. Shrinkage is minimal. Available sizes are Youth Small (YS), Youth Medium (YM), Youth Large (YL), Adult Small (S), Adult Medium (M), Adult Large (L), Adult X-Large (XL), Adult XX-Large (2XL), Adult 3X-Large (3XL), Adult 4X-Large (4XL), and Adult 5X-Large (5XL). T-shirts are available in either Navy Blue (with gold lettering), or in Gold (with navy blue lettering).
Long-Sleeved T-Shirts – Long-Sleeved T-Shirts cost $13 (which includes screening, tax, and shipping). Our long-sleeved t-shirts are Gildan brand, and are an ultra cotton 6.1oz., 100% pre-shrunk cotton. Available sizes are YS, YM, YL, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, and 5XL. Long-sleeved t-shirts are available in either Navy Blue (with gold lettering), or in Gold (with navy blue lettering).
Hooded Sweatshirts – Hooded sweatshirts cost $20 (which includes screening, tax, and shipping). Hoodies are also Jerzees brand, and are a Nublend 8 oz., 50/50 cotton/polyester fleece. They are pill-resistant, and the hood is double-lined with grommets and matching drawcord, front pouch pocket, and seamless body. The cuffs are spandex-reinforced 1x1 ribbed, so they retain shape (as well as the waistband). Shrinkage is minimal, but youth sizes can come smaller than expected. Available sizes are YS, YM, YL, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, and 5XL. Hooded sweatshirts are available in either Navy Blue (with gold lettering), or in Gold (with navy blue lettering).
Golf Shirts – Golf shirts are great for coaches! They cost $30 (which includes screening, tax, and shipping). These 3-button collared golf shirts are Chestnut Hill brand. They are 100% polyester micro pique, which has moisture wicking and anti-microbial odor control properties. These golf shirts are wash-and-wear, and they truly don’t shrink or fade. Available sizes are S, M, L, SL, 2XL, 3XL, and 4XL. Golf shirts are available in only Navy Blue (with gold lettering).
Other clothing items – We have ordered additional types of clothing in the past and are willing to accommodate any orders with a minimum of 12 (per color and screen size). Examples of other items we’ve ordered are sweatpants, shorts, baseball jerseys, and zippered hooded sweatshirts.
COMMON QUESTIONS:
1. When can I order Flames sportswear?
Generally, orders are put together 3 times per year (to coincide with when various sports’ seasons begin). There is a table at the annual Home-Ed Kick-off Meeting Activity Fair where you may place your order for the fall. This is our largest order of the year, so you can be assured we’ll have the minimum quantities needed to place our order. There is also usually an order placed in November, as many want to order Flames Sportswear for Christmas presents. However, you can place an order anytime you gather a minimum of 12 items (of the same color)!
2. Why do we need to have a minimum quantity to order?
We utilize a 3rd party to do our screening, and the marketing firm who coordinates our order eliminates almost all of their profit in order to keep our cost per item low. Screening is labor-intensive, and if the screening company has to change and clean the screen after only a couple of items, they’re going to need to charge us more for their effort. Minimum orders of 12 per color and screen size allow the screening company to quote the low prices we’re getting. Therefore, we need a minimum of 12 Gold clothing items (with navy ink lettering), and we need a minimum of 12 Navy clothing items (as these have gold ink lettering). Further, youth sizes have a smaller size logo screen than adult sizes, so we ideally need a minimum of 12 youth sizes and a minimum of 12 adult sizes to place an order.
3. How long does it take for items to come in?
Once the order is placed, it takes less than 2 weeks to receive our items.
4. When do I pay for my items?
Items do not have to be paid for before they are ordered, but they do need to be paid for before they can be picked up from the company. For this reason, most people pay for their items when ordering. Checks should be made payable directly to Bennett-Davis Group.
5. How much profit do the Flames make from my purchase?
In order to keep the cost of clothing items as low as possible, there is no profit from the sale of Flames sportswear. The individual who places and distributes orders is a parent volunteer, and the marketing firm who coordinates our orders with the screening company is owned by a parent volunteer. Only the 3rd party screening company makes a profit for their efforts, and they are unrelated to the Flames.
6. What are the Fit Guidelines for the various sizes?
Youth X-Small (chest 28); Youth Small (chest 30); Youth Medium (chest 32); Youth Large (chest 36); Adult Small (chest 34-36); Adult Medium (chest 38-40); Adult Large (chest 42-44); Adult X-Large (chest 46-48); Adult 2X-Large (chest 50-52); Adult 3X-Large (chest 54-56); Adult 4X-Large (chest 58-60); Adult 5X-Large (chest 62-64).
The Youth sizes run shorter than the adult sizes. When in doubt, order the larger size (as kids grow fast!).
