Would you like to take advantage of an inexpensive way to reach hundreds of Little Rock area homeschool families?
Home Ed accepts advertising for The Home Page (our newsletter). Advertising is available (for a price) to any person or organization who wants to achieve income from publishing in our newsletter. Those who consume our newsletter space (which carries a cost to us) to seek income, need to pay ad rates to defray those costs.
The cost of the ad helps cover the expense of publishing The Home Page.
Schedule
We schedule our newsletter to be published once each month for 10 issues.
Deadline
Submission deadline is the 15th of each month prior to publication.
Rates and Dimensions
$35 per issue = 1/4 page (3.5" wide by 4.75" high)
$70 per issue = 1/2 page (7.5" wide by 4.75" high)
Note: These are our only two ad sizes. We no longer accept full-page ads.
Accepted Formats
We accept standard graphic formats (TIFF, EPS, BMP, PICT, PDF) or printed camera-ready images (which we can scan). Note that our newsletter is black & white (not color). Images should be simple to be attractive. FYI...some people have tried to send us JPEG or JPG images (usually lower resolution). While these may look good on screen, they usually are not the best solution for printed images - they look fuzzy. Stick with the formats mentioned in the first sentence, please.
Unfortunately, we can not accept non-standard graphic formats (such as Word, WordPerfect, Publisher, Works, PageMaker, etc.). Your version of software may be able to export one of the standard formats above. Consult your software for information on this.
If you have no idea what the preceding paragraphs mean, you have three options:
- You can just do a normal e-mail to Home Ed with your text message and let Home Ed craft a simple ad for you. We'll add some appropriate stock images we have available. This is your best option. This method will produce a "cleaner" ad than scanning your copy. Many, many people do this. It makes things real simple.
- You can e-mail us your graphic images / logos and the text of your ad. Then let Home Ed craft the ad for you. You don't have to worry about placement, graphic formats and re-sizing, etc.
- You can mail us your "camera ready" ad. We will scan it and add it to our newsletter layout "as is". It's appearance will be subject to our low-cost, limited-quality, simple printing production process. You don't want to get too fancy or elaborate with your images.

- Submission Deadline is the 15th of each month prior to publication (see the schedule).
- Ads are not placed without payment. Make checks payable to "Home Ed".
- Ads are subject to the editorial policy of Home Ed. (For instance, as a homeschool-focused organization, we don't promote non-homeschool educational options like public schools, private schools, charter schools, etc.)
- Space is limited.

Checks should be made payable to "Home Ed" and in the amount associated to your ad size.
Sorry, but at this time it is not economically feasible for us to accept online payments.
Proofs/Copies of ads
Our newsletter contains information about our members that we wish to protect (children's names, phone numbers, etc.). Due to these privacy concerns, we can't give you a copy of the newsletter containing your ad. At your request, we can e-mail you an Adobe Reader document (PDF) with your ad on a mock newsletter page so you can see placement and presentation.
So what do you need to do?
- Pick an ad size.
- Prepare your ad.
- Get your ad in by the deadline on the schedule.
- Get your payment in by the deadline on the schedule.
- Expect your ad to be published on the in accordance with the publication schedule.
- Watch for e-mail confirmation of your ad.
